Good People, Good Things

I am sick of good people being looked down upon because they tried to do the right thing. Why is following the rules so bad? I may not have always followed them but I do have respect for the rules just because I know that, for the most part, the rules were constructed from some state of logical thinking. It is one thing to break the rules and then try to do the right thing out of fear. That I cannot honor. However I can say that if you do the right thing out of genuine personal conviction and are ostracized or ridiculed for it, congratulations. If the Devil is not trying to pull you down, it means you're not doing anything right.

4:26am

Tonight I learned something about one of my best friends that I never would have imagined. It just led me to realize even more that you can never judge a book by it's cover.

People always think at first glance that I am so well put together but that's just because I am good at keeping my life's turmoil at bay so as to not leave the public at an uneasy disposition. She is even better than I am at it. And I must commend her because, honestly, very few people can make me genuinely feel blessed because they're going through it as bad or worse than I am. But most of the time, the people who do live hard lives are great at not only having a smile on their faces but also at caring for others who are going through trying times. And I'm not talking about hard as in impoverished or relatively normal. I mean having a drawn out, reality shattering period of life that can either break you or make you stronger. To make it through something that most people would understand you breaking but letting that make you a stronger and a better person, in my mind, speaks volumes to the purpose that God has for your life.

Anyway, it is 4:24 am, I have been up since 6:30 am and I have to get up at 6:45 am so I will call it a night. Goodnight and be gr8ful for the blessings you don't know that you possess.
